A TIME OF "MERRIMAKING AND FESTIVITY"
The perfect theme for a room full of rug hookers sharing a day of creativity, reunion, new friendships, fun and games, a rug show and shopping.

The day began.....waiting for the doors to open.....collecting name badges.....getting handouts for the scavenger hunt and the pattern and a piece of wool for next years challenge rug. After everyone found a seat announcements were made and the walk in registration process began.
New friends and old gathered and the hooking began.
Projects progressed. Wide cut, primitive, fine cut, and geometric. Such talent and creativity.
Fun and games. This year our challenge contest was to create a mardi gras mask. Favorite entries were voted on by all of our guest. Our annual raffle included more prizes than ever, Winners were thrilled with the basket contents which may have included frames, patterns, books, neck lamps, wool, wool, wool and more wool. There were also door prize drawings provided by our vendors. New this year was a Mardi Gras scavenger hunt. Participants visited each vendor booth and tried to locate a hidden Mardi Gras hidden item in each booth.
Ask a hooker! This was another new addition to our hookin. This booth was a place to see a variety of equipment, foundations, wool, frames and other hooking related things. And to ask any question that you may have had about the basics of rug hooking.
Fabulous Vendors with awesome wool, patterns, baskets and all things hooking. Our vendors this year were (in photo order) Cindy Irwin Rug Hooking, Baskets by Dianne Pearce, Goat Hill Designs. The Bee and The Bear, Wooly Dye Works, Fluff and Peachy Bean, The Spotted Cur, The Wool 'N Gardener, The Wool Studio. Thank you to all of these vendors for their support and enthusiasm for our show.
And we shopped.
The Rug Show.. Members and guests displayed finished pieces including rugs, pillows, jackets, wall hanging, Christmas Trees, and a flower in a pot.
Memories of a fun filled day.

We all had a great time and we're already looking forward to next years event. Next year's challenge mat will be to use the spring flowers (all or part of) pattern below. If you attended this years event you should have received a pattern and random piece of wool to incorporate into your mat.
Keep checking the website for more information on the 2026 Hookin.
