2015 - ANOTHER YEAR AND WE ARE STILL HERE!
It seemed like it had been a long time. The holidays are over and we could not wait to get out of the house and see everyone. The Woolwrights is the most incredible group of hookers and friends. The following photos for the New Year of 2015 are just outstanding and we look forward to seeing the progress each and every time we have the opportunity to get together. Enjoy!

November 13, 2015 - Another absolutely beautiful fall day, clear skies, and very windy. We had a very busy meeting day with at least four meetings taking place in the four hours we were together. We had a hook-in committee meeting, a board meeting, our regular monthly meeting, and meeting of the wild bunch of girls going on the first Woolwright retreat to the Quilter's Inn. We were so busy with all the meetings and just talking that we did not have our usual Show and Tell and we need to make sure that is one of the most important parts of our day because we all miss it when it does not happen. Cindy came and showed everyone how to create their own hooks using crochet hooks and polymer clay. The year is going so quickly and you can see from the hooks and some rugs that Christmas is not far in the future. Let the days slow down some so we can all take time to enjoy our times together.
October 9, 2015 - A beautiful fall day, a roomful of the most artistic women in Lancaster County, a spread on the bar with everyone's baking talents, good conversation, and lessons learned..... what more could you want? You know, you go from meeting to meeting and you always think you have just seen the most beautiful work and then the next month comes.... and there before your eyes, once again, is the most creatively color planned and hooked rugs ever! We were also able to see gorgeous appliqué and it is always a education to hear the techniques shared by others.
September 11, 2015 - What a day we had!! The Woolwrights held our annual Yard Sale! Our members filled the room with wool, books, frames, yarns, patterns, anything a hooker could ever want! The Yard Sale was a great success. One of our special items for the sale were books and magazines that had belonged to our dear friend, Betty Krull. With the donations made for her books, we were able to make a significant donation to Zion Lutheran Church and their Sunday school program. Sunday school was always a very important thing for Betty.
But... still once again, our show and tell was just magnificent. The designs, the hooking, the colors were just simply beautiful! As you will see, Marion won First Place and Viewer's Choice at the Maryland State Fair for "Hoot". Congratulations, Marion! It was a great day!

June 12, 2015 - I think we may say that the Woolwrights met today on the first real day of summer for 2015! It was a hot one! We didn't actually have show and tell today, but we did have a very interesting meeting. Members brought in rugs that were started last year during workshops with Eric Sandberg and Ali Strebel. This is something new that the Woolwrights are doing. On the first anniversary of a Woolwrights workshop, we are asking that you bring your completed or "not quite there" rug to photographed. You may bring your rug even if you attended a workshop with that teacher in another area or with another guild. We received two new members today and had a visitor who came to show a rug that her mother had hooked approximately 80 years before. The rug will probably be donated to the North American Rug Museum in Nova Scotia. So it was a good day as it always is when we get together.
May 8, 2015 - Today..... another great day to be with the Woolwrights! The one thing I noticed today is that there seemed to be so many brand new projects! As you will see, there were quite a collection of beautiful Bea Brock designs. What fun to sit with friends and laugh over memories and stories of our younger days!
April 10, 2015 - We had another great day! We were a little chilly, but everyone agrees that using the gymnasium at the church is a great idea! We did not have our usual show and tell today, but we still got some great photos and good conversation.
3/13/15 - Today, our room that we use at the church was so packed with all of the Woolwrights, our frames, our rugs, completed and far from completed projects, that we started looking around the church for more space. Zion Lutheran Church is always so good to us and today, we were told we could use the gymnasium for our meeting place on days when we have our large group. Our group has grown to over 80 members and as we have grown, our working space needed to grow with us. It was a great day and we were able to spread our wings and actually have room to walk around and visit with each other. This was a good move!
2/13/15 - "Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love." - Mother Theresa
We met each other on this day before Valentine's Day with smiles and each time we come together, we start again to share the love we have for our craft and more importantly, our friends.
