WE ARE STILL HERE
WE ARE STILL HERE
The posts for our meetings have been far and few between. The Woolwrights are still meeting, but only through ZOOM. We have now all made it to the beautiful fall season and we do miss seeing the members of our group. Our group is still strong with 90 members. Our lives and schedules of our daily activities have changed so over this past year and sometimes we just are not sure which direction we are going. But we do know that we enjoy seeing each other at our regular monthly meeting and the Tea Cozy meetings.
This meeting was a very special first time event! The Woolwrights wanted to show support for our vendors that we missed this year because of COVID 19. They have all been here for us in Lancaster County at the Woolwrights Annual Spring Hook-in for many years and we were so excited to see their faces and hear how they are making it through this crazy, uncharted time.
So, the Woolwrights held our first ever Virtual Vendor's Market Place. Today we had Jan & Fred Cole from The Wool 'n Gardener and Nancy Jewett from Fluff & Peachy Bean Designs! We got a little tour of each vendor's home as they took us through showing their designs, wools, and other items that our members could purchase. We look forward to our next Virtual Vendor's Market Place and a big thank you to Jan, Fred, & Nancy for joining us for our visit event!

THE WOOLWRIGHTS
ARE ZOOMING ONCE AGAIN!!
THE WOOLWRIGHTS
ARE ZOOMING ONCE AGAIN!!
The Woolwrights joined together once again to have a ZOOM meeting. Seventeen members joined in for a day of sharing and concerns, laughter, smiles, and ideas of coping skills for this time when we are still or partly homebound. We also had the installation of the new officers and chairpersons for the Woolwrights. Thanks to Sarah, Connie, Bonnie, and Darlene for their service to our group during the last two years. Our new officers, Nancy Everson, Connie Bateman, Nancy Greene, and Ramona Ndlovu, Marsha Shirk, and Deb Burcin are ready to take over the reins. (To see photos of officers and chairpersons, go under "More" to "Officers & Chairpersons".)
Ramona gave us a great session on coping skills to help us all get through this time in our lives. One way to deal with emotions, anger, or anxiousness is 10 hugs a day!!! We practiced some breathing exercises and other suggestions such as coloring, prayer, journaling, and speaking kindly to your ownself were some of the suggestions to make our days easier. We did have a great Show & Tell, but we will post photos when members send those photos to me. The next Tea Cozy will be held on ZOOM by Ramona on June 26, 2020, from 10:00 am til noon.
Our meeting ended with being glad to share our stories, our feelings, concern and our care and love for each other. We miss seeing our friends and it was great to see everyone.

THE WOOLWRIGHTS
FIRST ZOOM MEETING
THE WOOLWRIGHTS
FIRST ZOOM MEETING
During this time of the COVID 19 virus here in the United States and around the world, we have had to change our lives in many ways. The Woolwrights have not been able to meet since February and our board made the deicision to upgrade a ZOOM program online so that our members can see each other's faces and our rugs and share our thoughts and feelings of sadness, concern, and happiness just to be with our friends. ZOOM is something that is new to all of us, but we did have a meeting on May 8, 2020, at 10:00 AM and we were able to meet for a two hour period which was a lot of fun. Of course, there are little glitches that can be worked on as we become more aware of the program, but all in all, it was a great meeting! We had as many as 26 members on screen at one time. We even held an election for our new officers.
So, the Woolwrights will be meeting in this fashion until we can all join together again. We will have our usual meeting on the second Friday of each month and we hope to have our talented members have online workshops from time to time. Invitations to our meetings will be sent out early by email on the day of the meeting and you can follow the directions to join in on the conversation and Show & Tell.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
We are now in the middle of February and here in Lancaster County, we have had the very smallest of winters so far. The time will be changing soon and spring will be arriving next month.
The Woolwrights gathered together once again for a very special day and we were so excited to have our friend, member, and guest speaker, Judy Carter, tell us the story of her rug hooking career. Judy's story became one of the most inspirational, educational, interesting, and fun stories that we have been able to enjoy over the years. She told us of how she got started rug hooking by happening upon a hooked rug that could not be identified and explained just how important it is for us all to label our rugs with our story for people in the future who may come upon one of our treasured works. Judy gave encouragement by saying there should be no rules to rug hooking, but to follow your heart and your own inspiration to hook the rug that you love. She told stories of finding solutions to ideas that she had for a rug and just going with an idea and ending up with something that suits the rug beautifully. We saw some of Judy's first rugs and some of her most recent artistic endeavors and it was a great day! The Woolwrights were so blessed to have Judy with us to hear of her inspiration, her love of rug hooking, and the "faith" in living our days through our art. Thank you, Judy.

January 10, 2020 - Happy New Year from the Woolwrights Rug Hooking Guild! We return this year with our members looking forward to a great year! We have many exciting workshops and pop-up lessons for our meetings this year. We invite all of our followers to enjoy our website and you are always welcome to join us here in Lancaster County!
January 10, 2020 - We start the new year off today in almost spring-like weather with excitement for the upcoming days, with comfort for our members in need of compassion and love, and with laughter which brightens all of our days. Our first meeting of the new year was a great meeting with the Woolwrights sharing all types of creative work. We were able to view Russian hooking, quilting, appliqueing, punch hooking, and, of course, rug hooking. Darlene gave us a "pop-up" demonstration of Russian hooking which is just beautiful. We are looking forward to the upcoming months with demonstrations from many of our own members who will be sharing some of their favorite tips and ideas.
