QUILLIES, EYES, & CROCHETING WITH THE GIRL FROM MICHIGAN
We just completed a three day workshop with Kris Miller from Spruce Ridge Studios. Kris drove all the way from Michigan with a dislocated pinky finger by herself and hauling all her supplies of wools, patterns, ribbons, needles in her van. Kris taught us how to make human eyes, bird eyes, and how to crochet the edge of our rugs. We were introduced to a super strong thread and needles that work great with making "quillies" and we introduced Kris to raspberry pecan ice cream from Oregon Dairy and long johns that melt in your mouth from Achenbach's. We heard stories of goats, dogs, and alpacas. We shared tips on how to hook, how to clean, how to turn flies away from your door, and compared stories of the men in our lives that we refer to as our "wonderful husbands". So after we solved the problems of the world or our worlds, the best part of the whole experience is the time we got to spend together making new friendships with our own members who do not get a chance to see each other that often and getting to know our new new girlfriend from Michigan. Thanks for coming to spend time with us, Kris, and we look forward to seeing you again. Note: Be sure to click on one photo to see the complete picture.
