*****CANCELLED *****
March 12, 2020 - 11:20 AM
I am sorry to have to inform all of you of this, but the Woolwrights meeting and the Woolwrights Annual Spring Hook-In are both being cancelled because of concerns with the coronavirus. At this time in our country, it is important to try to prevent as much exposure to others as we can. I have been told that the registration costs will be used for next year's hook-in, so if you have paid for 2020, you are now paid up for the 2021 hook-in. I have no other details to share at this time.
If you have friends or know of people who are not Woolwrights members and were planning on coming to either of these, please let them know.
Please take care of yourselves and we wish everyone the best at this crazy time in our lives. - Deb Burcin

The Multicolores Guatemalan Rug Hooking Cooperative
The Woolwrights are very excited this year to have a representative from The Multicolores Guatemalan Rug Hooking Cooperative attend our hook-in. As you can see from photos above, two of our members, Connie and Leanne, made the journey to Guatemala in February of 2019 to spend time with the women of Guatemala who hook rugs to support their families. Other friends of our group have and will be making the trip in the near future. You will be able to view rugs hooked by the women, copies of their book will be available, and you can hear stories of the experiences in Guatemala and the upcoming tours yet to come. Welcome Spring!!! It’s hard to believe, but this year will mark the 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of The Wool’n Gardener vending at the Woolwrights Hook-In – an honor for us and cause for celebration! In addition to our normal offerings, look for special items to be available to commemorate this milestone! We will have a large selection of luscious hand-dyed wools (and new colors dyed over new base wools), one-of-a-kind spot and sparkle dyes as well as other dyeing methods like shibori. We will have a full range of colors from the richest and deepest primitive palette to pastels – in between are those marvelous brights – and don’t forget our varied palettes of color based upon the subtle colors of Roseville Pottery, fraktur art and redware pottery. Have fun rummaging through the wool packages (which may include a variety of hand-dyed wools – and some mixed packages with hand-dyed and as-is wools) as well as the “bargain basket” (which has “stash” wool and short as-is pieces)! Full 1 yard pieces of dyed wool will be available – great for backgrounds – which show the true effect of the mottling. Don’t forget our pattern selection (some of which are adaptations of antique rugs owned by
The Wool’n Gardener).
Check out the newest addition to our collection "Wooley Sheep". It is a fantastic primitive pattern offered only by The Wool 'n Gardener!!
