The Woolwrights are sorry to announce that we must cancel The Woolwrights Annual Spring Hook-In for 2021 because of Covid-19. After much deliberation, we could not figure out a way to bring a large group of people together in a safe way. We realize that March seems a long way off, but this is the time when all the preparation begins. This saddens us to cancel the hook-in. We love sharing the art of rug hooking and the friendships we have with all of you.
With all that being said, we are planning The Woolwrights "Welcome Back" Hook-in for March of 2022. We appreciate all the support you have given us over the years and we look forward to the time when we can meet again in person. Sadly in 2020, the Woolwrights Annual Spring Hook-In was cancelled because of the threat of the coronavirus. The Woolwrights are looking ahead to the next year with hope that our family, members, friends, and our country can come through this time and get back to our normal, healthy lives. So, we will be planning for the upcoming year and we hope to see all of you next year.
"A FROLICKING FLOCK"
Before the 2020 Woolwrights Annual Spring Hook-In was cancelled, the Woolwrights were given permission by artist Michelle Palmer and Rug Hooking Magazine to use the "Hen's Special Delivery" pattern from the January/February 2020 edition of Rug Hooking Magazine. The article begins on Page 32. The article, "A Frolicking Flock", is beautiful, inspiring, contains great tips, and it also contains four patterns. The Woolwrights' original plan was to let everyone know at our 2020 hook-in that these beautiful patterns would be the 2021 Challenge Rug. Since we were not able to let all of you know, we are now throwing out the chicken feed and hope that you will join us and hook this pattern so that we can have the biggest "Frolicking Flock" next year!
So this is the plan from Woolwrights' coop...... open your Rug Hooking Magazine to Page 32. Pick your hen out and enlarge the pattern to any size you want. Enlarging one of the patterns by 350% makes the pattern 11" x 18". Dress your hen as any hen would dress, ie. vintage, Bohemian, chic, artsy, sexy, casual, sophisticated, or tomboy!!! Make that hen as wild or conservative as you think this hen should be!
